Baku Old City
Baku Old City is the historic heart of the capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by twelfth century stone walls. Its narrow streets, traditional architecture, museums, art galleries, restaurants, and cafes create a unique atmosphere that reflects the city's rich history.
Among its most famous landmarks is the Maiden Tower, a monument surrounded by mystery as its exact origin and purpose remain unknown. Another highlight is the Shirvanshahs Palace, a beautiful fifteenth century royal complex that includes a mosque, mausoleum, bathhouse, ceremonial hall, and ancient water reservoir.
The Old City also features many hidden treasures, including the Museum of Miniature Books, the Marionette Theatre, historic mosques such as the Mohammed Mosque, traditional caravanserais, bathhouses, and charming local art galleries, cafes, and shops.

Flame Towers
The Flame Towers are among Baku's most iconic landmarks and a symbol of the city's modern skyline. At night, the three flame shaped towers light up with impressive displays, creating one of the most memorable views in the city.
One tower is home to the Fairmont Baku hotel, while the other two contain apartments and offices. Their elevated location makes them visible from across the city, with Seaside Boulevard and Highland Park offering some of the best viewpoints.
Inspired by Azerbaijan's history as the Land of Fire, the towers come alive each evening with thousands of LED lights that create moving flame effects. Their unique design and spectacular lighting make them one of Baku's most photographed attractions.

Do Pakistani citizens need a visa to visit Azerbaijan? How long does it take?
Yes. Pakistani passport holders require a visa to enter Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijan e-Visa is typically processed within 3–5 working days under standard processing. If you're travelling on short notice, urgent e-Visa services may be available, with processing times ranging from 3 to 24 hours. Is Azerbaijan safe for Pakistani tourists?
Yes. Azerbaijan is widely regarded as one of the safest destinations in the Caucasus region. Popular tourist destinations such as Baku, Gabala, Shahdag, and Sheki are well-developed and regularly visited by international travellers. What is the best time to visit Azerbaijan, and how many days should I plan?
Azerbaijan is a year-round destination, with each season offering a different experience. • Spring (March–May): Pleasant weather and blooming landscapes. • Summer (June–August): Ideal for escaping Pakistan's heat, especially in mountain destinations like Gabala and Shahdag. • Autumn (September–November): Comfortable temperatures and beautiful autumn scenery. • Winter (December–February): Perfect for snow lovers and winter activities in Shahdag. For first-time visitors, we recommend 6–7 days to comfortably explore Baku, Gabala, and other nearby attractions.
Is Azerbaijan suitable for families, honeymooners, and solo travellers?
